Abstract
The design of test signals to measure the frequency response of a gas turbine is addressed. Single sine, multisine and binary signals are discussed and a review of previous work is presented. A comparison of single sine and multisine test times shows that, for the same accuracy, they take longer using multisines. A frequency domain approach is proposed for binary signal design. The results are applicable to any low-pass, low-order, underdamped systems
