Abstract
A class of cellular automata (CA) called the B-rule is considered. It has been found that the rule B132 can be exploited in the design of CNNs for binary image thinning. In this context, the characteristics of a one-dimensional B-rule CA are introduced. This approach and the results of using these rules for binary image thinning with CNNs are discussed
