  • Abstract
    Locomotive synchronization operation and control(LSOC) system is a train control system based on LOCOTROL technique and GSM for railway (GSM-R) system for heavy haul railway. The current QoS requirements of GSM-R are designed for train control message transmission (TCMT) service of ETCS, which are not suitable for LSOC service with different characteristic. Therefore, the reasonable QoS requirement should be designed according to the demand of heavy haul railway system. The structure of LSOC system and its parts are introduced. On the basis of analysis on the characteristic heavy haul and LOCOTROL technique, the new requirements of two important indicators including transmission interference and transfer delay are proposed. The new requirements are different from that of ETCS. As the speed of heavy haul train is lower than passenger train, the new requirement is easy to satisfied and the cost of GSM-R network planning and optimization can be reduced.
