Tourism has been one of the fastest growing industries in recent years. Indeed, the growth rate of tourism has generally exceeded the growth rate for the worldwide economy. The article, using questionnaire survey method, do sampling survey on application of office automation and industry management system in the tourist administrative departments at different levels in China. 819 questionnaires were returned and analyzed which revealed that about 67.48% of tourist administrative departments make use of office automation and about 65.10% make use of industry management system. At last, countermeasures were proposed to develop e-government in the tourism industry in China.
