Tourist activity extraction from text

Easy information sharing and open resources on the web motivate information extraction in growing sectors like the Tourism industry. Tourism data resources are precompiled, focused on specialized services for tourists. This paper presents an uncomplicated definition of `Activity´, provides methods to extract tourist activities as `Entities´, and gives case studies with certain encountered limitations. It also explains the simple and fast prototyping of an extraction method, based on an entity from the `tourism´ concept corpus. The extraction method uses `Wordnet´ as a knowledge base.
