Abstract
We propose a novel fiber-fault polling monitoring scheme using optical 2D-pre-coding technique for passive optical networks. This scheme contains Probe Pulse Pre-coding module, Link Failure Recognition module and Decoder module. We adopt an effective polling monitoring strategy to improve the detection decision probability. Simulation shows that our proposed scheme supports the monitoring of up to 64 clients with an SNR of 9.722 dB and has optimized decision probability above 95%.
