Abstract
Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) are wireless networks consisting of a collection of mobile nodes with no fixed infrastructure. Energy is a limiting factor in the successful deployment of ad hoc networks since nodes are expected to have little potential for recharging their batteries. Communication in ad hoc networks necessarily drains the batteries of the participating nodes, and eventually results in the failure of nodes due to lack of energy. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm called DRE-AOMDV (Delay Remaining Energy for AOMDV routing protocol) a solution to find the maximal nodal remaining energy of each route in the process of selecting path with respect of the end-to-end constraint. We concentrate especially on route failures due to lack of energy. The simulation´s result shows the significant performance improvement of the network in terms of energy consumption, life time of the network and packet delivery.
