Main problems of the information service in theory and practice are concluded according to domestic and abroad researches, a new definition is proposed to show its core character of service as well as its background of the information industry, an industrial interaction diagram is exhibited to describe the relationships between the information service and other related industries, and an operable statistical classification framework is constructed to interpret the connotation and structure in this paper, so as to recognize the complicated interaction relationship in the whole economy more clearly, know the status of the information service more accurately, and provide enough scientific proofs to make and execute policies more effectively.
