Abstract
This paper presents a novel analytic model and simulation studies for node degree and normalized link failure frequency (nlff) in wireless mobile networks. We obtain the probabilities of a node´s degree to exceed and for nlff to drop below certain thresholds as the node moves following the random walk model. The expected time of this event will determine stability of a node link in wireless mobile networks. We provide numerical and simulation results to demonstrate the relationship between node degree and nlff for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) with different node densities.
