  • Abstract
Techniques are described that lead to the efficient implementation of adaptive filters using C language on the TMS320C25, TMS320C30, DSP32, and DSP56000 digital signal processors (DSPs). The relative performances of these C compilers were related to the architecture of each DSP. In order to generate efficient codes for DSP systems, four C function libraries for implementing the most widely used adaptive filters were developed. These libraries also provide the facility to do rapid prototyping and implementing of adaptive signal processing algorithms. The problem of roundoff noise produced from the C compiler output code is discussed
