  • Abstract
Phylogenetic analysis is widely used to determine evolution and function of gene, to identify the genus of bacteria based on gene sequences. Phylogenetic trees showing the evolutionary relationship of 32 Vibrios based on gyrB and 16S rRNA gene sequences are compared, the validity and the reliability of phylogenetic trees were studied in this paper. The result showed that gyrB gene sequences were reliable at determining relationships of vibrios. 16S rRNA gene sequences are appropriate for describing phylogenetic relationships between genera or between some distantly related bacterium. It is useful to clarify the phylogenetic relationships of vibrios combining gyrB with 16S rRNA gene sequences.
