  • Abstract
Healthcare delivery is reliant on information technology and World Wide Web (W3) technologies are influencing the design of information systems. From these facts, it seems obvious that the design of innovative healthcare systems will be related to emerging W3 technologies. This study will concentrate on the most promising of these technologies : the semantic web. Our approach also concentrates on business to consumers, that is the general public, rather than business to business systems. This paper emphasizes that general public are awaiting such applications and that every actor of the healthcare system can benefit from their distribution and use. Finally, this paper will propose a framework to design powerful and interactive patient-oriented web systems.
