Abstract
This paper proposes a delay profile measurement scheme for estimating W-CDMA systems performance in practical service areas. The scheme uses the P-CPICH continuously transmitted from each base station. Its two key points are; detecting the synchronization timing from just P-CPICH and measuring the SIR delay profile in addition to the power delay profile. We clarify the performance of the measurement system analytically and show the results of tests conducted on a prototype
