Abstract
In this paper a path loss estimation method based on Log-Normal model is presented. This method is applied to 900 MHz GSM Microcell in an urban region in Kermanshah, Iran. Based on this method, the area around the cell antenna is divided to angular and radial sectors which can be determined arbitrarily. For each sector a particular path loss exponent n is calculated and the path loss is estimated based on the estimated path loss exponents of cell sectors. Comparisons between estimated path loss model and real field measurements show good agreement wehret the smaller sectors results the better model estimation.
