  • Abstract
Inter vehicle communication (IVC) systems are attracting considerable attentions and several systems were proposed and are under development to realize an IVC system in the near future. In order to realize an IVC system, it is very important for each vehicle to acquire the locations of other vehicles. Therefore, we propose a scheme to identify relative positions of vehicles for the construction of an IVC network. In the proposed system, the vehicles and base stations on the road side are connected by a single directional network and the relative position information is circulated in the network. This network makes each vehicle possible to identify positions of other vehicles. In this paper the information transfer scheme for code collision avoidance is also discussed. The effect of the proposed system is analyzed by computer simulations.
