Abstract
A novel wireless LAN prediction tool using a genetic algorithm and a neural network has been implemented and tested. This prediction tool uses measurement and calibration data to increase the accuracy of signal strength prediction. Moreover, we utilize the genetic algorithm to calculate the environment parameter to shorten the prediction time and simplify the prediction process. In our method, we only use wireless LAN cards and notebooks to complete the prediction work without using any complex equipment.
