  • Abstract
This article presents the Drive-by-Wire system that is under development on a "Mini-Baja" vehicle. This system will be used as platform for implementation of different driver assistance programs, e.g., anti-collision system or automated parallel parking maneuver. On this stage of vehicle automation it is possible to drive the car using two different human-machine-interfaces: an analog joystick or a common cell-phone for remote control. In this article the controller architecture and the experience of driving a car using other human-machine-interfaces than the conventional steering wheel and pedals structure will be presented together with an analysis of their disadvantages and how to overcome them.
