Abstract
In this paper, at first the simulation and modeling of wind turbine and induction generator as a source connected to the electrical grid is proposed, and then by using 48-pulse STATCOM its voltage profile has been optimized and its reactive power has been controlled. According to the references given, the 48-pulse STATCOM has been used in improving the voltage profile and reactive power of the wind farm based fixed speed wind turbine for the first time and this is the most important novelty of this paper. The simulation results show that the performance of the STATCOM reactive power control system is powerful and robust.
