Abstract
The results of a market survey on both fixed frequency and voltage controlled surface acoustic wave (SAW) oscillators (VCO) are presented. The survey attempts to establish the acceleration sensitivity performance baseline for commercially available SAW oscillators and to determine the feasibility of using them to meet the requirements of future systems. Some of the observed advantages and disadvantages of particular SAW oscillator design configurations are reported. Results will lead to a greater understanding of the ability of commercial vendors to satisfy the hostile vibration environment of the battlefield
