Abstract
This paper studies analytic semigroup generation and exponential stability of the solution of a nonstandard second order partial differential equation with structural damping arising from direct strain feedback (DSFB) control of flexible robot arms. It is theoretically shown that direct strain feedback can increase damping rate of the vibration of flexible arms
