Abstract
This paper investigates the application of integral measurement system with luminescent screen in pulsed operation of planar cold cathodes. The emission current delay with respect to the pulse generator signal proves the increase of the output voltage within 2 ms. Results show that the brightness of the screen is greatly increased for higher peak voltage and currents. Moreover, halos that appear indicates lateral light spreading and might be precursors of discharges due to heat load.
