  • Abstract
In this paper, a short and efficient technique for small-signal design of a 2.6 GHz microstrip oscillator using HXTR4101 bipolar transistor is introduced. The technique consists mainly of two steps. The first step is to optimize the lengths and widths of microstrip stubs at the emitter and base of the transistor to get maximum reflection coefficient at the output of the non-oscillating circuit comprising the transistor and the microstrip stubs. This is performed using C/NL2 computer program. The second step is to design the output matching circuit to transfer maximum output power at the output load. The design of the matching circuit is performed accurately with analytical design approach using HHSS1 computer program. The final schematic diagram of the designed oscillator with the lengths and widths of microstrip lines is presented
