Abstract
In the present work, as a biomass, chitosan is selected as stabilizer to prepare chitosan/CdS composite nanoparticles in situ. The chitosan/CdS composite nanoparticles with excellent water-solubility is obtained under very mild conditions (normal pressure and near room temperature) in aqueous solution. TEM results suggest the size of CdS is 2~6 nm in diameter. The emission spectra of the products in water are recorded by spectrophotometer (Jasco FP-6500). The results show that the composite nanoparticles dispersed in water have three emission peaks at 476, 512 and 610 nm.
