Abstract
From three views of conceptual view, knowledge-related activity view and functional view of Knowledge Alliance Information Systems (KAIS), several models for understanding the concept of KAIS and its application structure are proposed. From the conceptual view, a T-type application model for KAIS is outlined, which illustrates the content, extension and the application goals of KAIS. From the knowledge-related activity view, a three-level model to describe the underlying logic among the activities of knowledge application, knowledge management and information processing is posed. From the functional view, core functions of KAIS and the key technologies for their implementation are described. This paper will be helpful in understanding the concept of KAIS and be beneficial in the process of designing the structure of KAIS systems in real applications.
