  • Abstract
Based on mechanical and control system design, this paper presents an electric wheelchair which could be controlled by SEMG signal. This kind of wheelchair is reconstructed from an ordinary one with motor drive devices on both sides; and as to the control system, the controller´s SEMG signal is sampled, amplified and filtered, and after processing, the output signal could be used to control the movement of the wheelchair. This low cost wheelchair shows us another way to control wheelchair, and even the handicapped without arms can also control the wheelchair as will.
