Abstract
In this paper the authors analyse their proposal consisting of equipping a plastic waste gasification plant both with a conventional steam power plant and magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) topping cycle. One of the major advantages of this technique is the neutralization of the acid gases present in the fumes accomplished by the alkaline cations deriving from the salt used for plasma seeding. In addition, an improvement of global efficiency as well as a notable economical costs reduction versus conventional waste treating plants can be reached. In this paper, the main problems related to the design of this innovative plant are discussed
