Equal access for other countries

It is argued that the equal access configuration in the US is largely the result of the response by regional Bell operating companies and switch manufacturers to a demanding, externally imposed timetable. The fractured network, which results from divestiture, precludes the development of a more centralized approach. Intelligent network equal access is proposed. It is a set of functionality that satisfies the present and future requirements of providing equal access, and other related capabilities. It provides new features that could result in significant operational and administrative savings and new revenue generating services. It can also be specified in a manner that fits itself to, and is evolvable with, many networks, rather than having to fit the network to the specified US functionality
