Abstract
As president of the 49th National Aerospace and Electronics Conference (NAECON), the author and the NAECON \´97 Committee and Board of Directors are proud to present this official record of our Conference. This is a totally different, yet very exciting year. We are also celebrating the 50th Birthday of the US Air Force. In an effort to showcase the "air and space force" of today, NAECON has brought to its technical program the roadmaps of Wright Laboratory along with our traditional papers, special sessions, and tutorials. As the stepping stone to the future, Wright Laboratory has provided thousands of possibilities for advancing the state of the art in aerospace. Our program reflects this steadfastness to the needs of our country to develop the world\´s best equipped fighting force. The technology of today must enhance the force structure to be able to stand up against greater odds than ever before. Conference proceedings front matter may contain various advertisements, welcome messages, committee or program information, and other miscellaneous conference information. This may in some cases also include the cover art, table of contents, copyright statements, title-page or half title-pages, blank pages, venue maps or other general information relating to the conference that was part of the original conference proceedings.
