Abstract
A PAM inverter system with soft-switching PFC converter suitable for PM motor drives is proposed. To reduce the switching losses and EMI noise, a soft switching circuit is used for a PFC converter. The PFC converter can control the output of the PAM inverter. The proposed PAM system has a lot of advantages, viz., a sinusoidal input current, a high power factor, low switching losses, low EMI noise, reduction of the voltage and current stresses, and reducing torque ripple, etc
