Abstract
Embedded user assistance (UA) is any type of instructional or conceptual information that appears within a software application window. It includes embedded help (help topics that appear within the application), field labels, and page overviews. This paper outlines the benefits of embedded UA, four techniques for providing embedded UA, and embedded UA solutions for localization and customization issues.
