  • Abstract
This paper discusses the integration of communication skills across the Information Technology degree curriculum in the University of Cincinnati´s College of Applied Science. It focuses on the academic factors that drove the decision-making process. Students enrolled in the curriculum are required to complete specific communication courses beyond the basic courses required of all students in the College. Communication activities are also well integrated throughout technical courses with writing, presentation, and visual assignments incorporated in classes. This paper offers a detailed description of the senior design capstone sequence of nine quarter hours over the senior year that requires detailed written documentation, extensive interpersonal contacts, and formal oral presentations and demonstrations.
