Abstract
This paper, on ferroresonant transformers, details some recent technical improvements and cost saving suggestions for manufacturing in larger quantities. Some of the well known, and less well known, properties and applications of ferroresonant transformers are shown. Standard design methods and information for the less experienced transformer engineer are explained via technical data from the lamination vendors. Concepts of lamination design combined with material for both performance and cost improvements are shown for new designs, Capacitor improvements for cost reduction versus performance are explained. New winding procedures along with size and cost improvements are noted. Some sound level reduction concepts and related design information are presented
