Abstract
In this paper, polypropylene foam was prepared by chemical extruded foaming, the effect of formulation and process conditions on properties of polypropylene foam was investigated. The results show that the main factor affecting polypropylene foam is the die temperature, when the screw temperature is 182°C, the die temperature is 153°C, screw speed is 20 rpm, the amount of foaming agent is 3.8 wt% and the amount of talc is 0.65 wt%, the cell size is uniform and the average number size can be controlled within 56 μm, the cell density is up to 7.13×1012 cells/cm3.
