Abstract
In this paper, a new kind of cycle was proposed, which is named the compound cycle of turbo diesel engine with auxiliary combustion and energy recovery system. Numerical simulation method was adopted to analyze the compound cycle. According to the application requirement, the control target was proposed. Several parameters were chosen to develop the control strategy at different speed of full-load such as: the fuel rate of auxiliary combustion, air rate for the auxiliary combustion and the divided gas rate. The simulation result demonstrates that the compound cycle can effectively make use of the energy in the diesel exhaust gas to supply the refrigeration system with continuous power of 10kW. The low-speed characteristic of diesel engine torque is improved (the torque increased by 72% at the engine speed of 1000r/min e.g.).
