  • Abstract
This paper presents simulation results of impact analysis of reliability management in the competitive electricity market. The impact of generation outage on supply reliability is evaluated by using UP (unserved power) calculated from the difference in the supply-demand balance before and after the generator´s outage. Furthermore, we estimate change in nodal price and wheeling rate by introduction of the reliability management in the secure operation with consideration of single-transmission line outage (N-1 rule). To verify allocation of the cost related to transmission congestion and reliability management among participants of the electricity market, impact analysis on the cost and operation is conducted by simulation studies using a small-scale test system.
