Abstract
A simple unidirectional bullet conformal monopole antenna designed for impulse radar system is presented in this paper. The antenna is used to radiate first derivative Gaussian impulse with peak-peak width of 200 ps. To adapt to the bullet structure and realize unidirectional radiation pattern, impedance loaded is adopted to achieve UWB impedance match and unidirectional radiation. The impedance band width is 0.67 GHz-2.15 GHz for S11 ≤ -10 dB. The time domain and unidirectional radiation characteristics are studied by simulation and experiment. The simulation and experiment results are presented.
