Implementation of prototype system about visual customization based on VRML

In this paper, a method, which is achieved through the interaction of VRML browser and Java applet using external authoring interface to implement customization, is presented by analyzing current customized methods in e-commerce platform. The architecture of the method is put forward and the relative techniques are researched then a prototype system for timer is developed. That system allows customers to configure color and style of the product so that customers´ requirements are satisfied. Compared with traditional e-commerce model, the method not only enriches the contents of Web sites, but helps customers know the products better.
