Challenges for a human-centered information society

As the information society is developing, information and communication technologies (ICTs) become of central importance to an ever-increasing number of economic and social activities. According to a previous study, in the coming decade of the information society there will be three certainties: the continuation of the so called exponential laws fuelling technological development, the lack of skilled human resources and personnel and the growth of the digital divide. These three are intimately interconnected.
