Abstract
In ICs with small feature sizes, interconnections introduce signal delay and distortion. In network analysis programs, such as SPICE, RC lines are simulated by RC ladders. The authors show that Z -transform analysis of uniform or exponential RC ladders with given boundary conditions allows an estimation of the number of elements, depending on the load of the line
