Abstract
Clinical protocols of a Nuclear Medicine Department devoted to diagnostics in Cardiology can be improved by network and computer facilities. A carefully engineered local Information System (to be integrated into the Informative System for Cardiology of the Clinical Physiology Institute) yields synergic employment of human and technical resources, reducing costs, shortening the total examination duration, and providing quick access to diagnostic information. A working prototype of the module devoted to the Cardiology Unit of the Nuclear Medicine Department is presented. Benefits are found by the patient, the personnel and the whole Department, both in medical and in health care services.
