Abstract
VANETs (Vehicular Ad hoc Networks) are a special case of ad hoc networks with highly mobile nodes (onboard vehicles). The vehicles participating in the network exchange messages either periodically or on demand for different types of applications. The exchanged messages can be used to form relationships among the vehicles in the network. In this paper, we present a system that assigns trust ratings to different vehicles in the network based on similarity to enhance the decision making process using trust. In addition, we propose a method to identify abnormal vehicles or vehicles that exhibit unpredictable behaviors using data mining techniques. We provide simulation results, some analysis and discussion in that regard.
