  • Abstract
Blood pressure is one of important physiological parameters which reflect the activity of cardiovascular system. At present the oscillometric blood pressure measurement technique has been widely used in non-invasive blood pressure measurement instrument. This paper presented a new algorithm for oscillometric blood pressure measurement based on the feature point method and amplitude characteristic ratios method. The new method was proposed to measure the difference of adjoining pulse waves and their comparative ratios, and the turning point was judged by priority way in the range. The new method settled the problem of miscarriage of justice of the turning point around average pressure and improved the accuracy of blood pressure measurement. The algorithm had proved effective and reliable through the analysis of many cases and clinical tests, and its error was plusmn5% when it was applied in hospital. It provides a convenient method for researching, preventing and epidemiological studies of cardiovascular diseases in our country.
