Abstract
A novel algorithm for the matrix element computation in the method of moment formulation for microstrip antennas is developed. The integration is carried out directly in the plane-wave spectral domain. This involves a double infinite integration. The advantages of using a double infinite integration instead of a finite and an infinite one are discussed. Examples of the application of the proposed approach are presented. The algorithm is found to be very efficient and can be applied over almost the entire frequency range. The algorithm can also handle a variety of different types of basis functions and thus has many applications for the analysis of the irregular-shape microstrip antennas.<>
