Abstract
The moment method is used to analyze a microstrip patch antenna. Although the method is general, it is applied to a rectangular shape for simplicity. An accuracy of 5% is obtained. A modification in the method of calculating the input impedance is made. The accuracy is improved by up to 0.05%, with approximately no increase in calculation time, as compared with the results from other CAD programs such as the IE3D software package and with experimental measurements. The modified results are used to establish a formula that relates the upper limit of integration and the integral´s interval division point.
