Abstract
Synthetic disulfides composed of iron and cobalt (Fe1-xCoxS2) were evaluated as cathode materials using a single cell. The discharge utilization was improved and the discharge curve exhibited an excellent plateau when compared with those of both FeS2 and FeS2+CoS2 and also the discharge time became longer with an increasing Co atomic ratio. The atomic ratio of iron and cobalt of each sample and the lattice constant obtained from X-ray analysis results are shown. The performances of BL 60210 and BL 72135 thermal batteries using synthetic disulfide cathode materials are described
