Abstract
This paper presents a new theory of optimization-based control strategy to determine the reference compensation voltages of a series active power filter (APF) operated under non-ideal supply voltages in the steady state. With using the proposed optimal control strategy, the load-side voltages can be flexibly maintained being balanced and sinusoidal. The usefulness of the proposed control strategy is demonstrated through simulations by using Matlab. Results show that the proposed method works well for series APF control with an optimal size.
