Abstract
This paper presents short review of both conventional and non-conventional methods of synchronized space-vector pulsewidth modulation (PWM) for three-level and multilevel inverters and ac drives. Accent has been done on overview of specialized techniques and algorithms of space-vector modulation, allowing continuous voltage waveform symmetries of multilevel systems in the whole control range for any operation conditions. Examples of application and adaptation of schemes of synchronized PWM to basic structures of multilevel converters and electric drives have been presented.
