Abstract
Construction of local e-government has a very significant impact on improving the governance capability of local government and promoting healthy and stable development of the regional economy. This paper compares the differences of the local e-government strategic positioning, management organization and operational mechanism between Chinese and the United States, and analyzes the similarities and differences of e-government´s investment, information infrastructure, portal information websites and information systems and databases between Chinese and the United States. According to Chinese social-economy condition and experience from American, this paper gives some countermeasure and suggestions to the construction of local e-government in China.
