  • Abstract
In the context of finding relevant models for an artificial society, totalistic rules and semitotalistic rules of two-state cellular automata (CA) are studied by computer simulations, by utilizing a novel method of observing the time variation of an entropy-like function. We tabulated all the totalistic rules in two dimension and in one dimension for the case of five neighborhood CA. We have classified all the semitotalistic rules in the case of three neighborhood CA expecting to do the same for more interesting five neighborhood case. Throughout the course of our study we did not see any positive evidence for the recently raised difficulty in classifying the cellular automata rule space
