  • Abstract
Thermal poling has been utilized to modify silicate glasses to provide it with second-order optical nonlinearity for realising electro-optic modulation and switching in silicate glass based devices. This paper reviews our thermal poling results on bulk silicate glasses and optical fibres and presents recent progress.
